The Planning Portal

The Planning Portal is a single resource for planning information in England and Wales. It gives help on making planning applications, why planning controls exist, guidance on how and when to apply for planning permission and also how to appeal against a planning decision. Also available on line are local plans (UDP) which will help you discover future planning for the area.

Long Drive Development

As you may know London City Homes Ltd. have applied to erect 6 houses and 18 flats on land in Long Drive, this would result in the demolition of existing properties. Many local residents and the SRRA objected to this development and the council subsequently refused it. The developer appealed against that decision and an Inquiry was due to take place in March, this was cancelled in favour of an exchange of written statements. With help from Councillor Oliver Curley the Inquiry (public hearing) has been reinstated, and a new date for it will notified in due course.

This means that residents can amend their previous objections and new objectors can also submit theirs to the Inspectorate in Bristol. They must be received in Bristol by 11th April 2006 Note! 3 copies of letters must be sent. Please help us to stop this gross over development and attend the inquiry if you can.
